Inspire STEM Festival, UW Bothell
March 24
WHO: 6th-8th grade students from King and Snohomish counties invited in teams of 10. Low-income, underrepresented groups (girls and future first-generation college students) especially encouraged to attend.
WHAT: Hands-on, brain-teasing science fun, exploration and inspiration through exhibits, workshops or talks by college professors, industry experts and former astronauts.
WHEN: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturday, March 24, 2018
WHERE: UW Bothell, 18115 Campus Way NE, Bothell, WA 98011
WHY: Research shows that middle school grades are a crucial time when many students, particularly girls, begin to turn away from science and math. The festival aims to maintain an interest that would move students into college and careers in science, technology, engineering and math.
