The Northshore School District will serve breakfast and lunch at no charge to all children who are 18 and younger. Children do not have to be enrolled in the District to receive this benefit.
The program will run from June 25 to August 17, Monday through Friday, except for July 4 and 5, at Northshore Middle School, located at 12101 NE 160th St. Bothell, WA.
Breakfast will be served between 7:45 and 8:45 a.m., and lunch will be available from noon to 12:30 p.m. Adults may purchase meals at the regular, advertised price of $2 for breakfast and $4 for lunch. All meals must be consumed at the school.
“The Northshore School District is committed to equity and excellence in education,” said Juliana Fisher, director of food services for the District. “Hunger can be a barrier to continued learning in the summer months. We are excited to offer a Summer Food Service Program this year so we can be a true resource for our families in need by helping children stay nourished through the summer and be ready for learning in the fall.”
The program is funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
