Chateau Ste. Michelle, Washington’s founding winery, was voted the most respected brand in Washington state in the Puget Sound Business Journal’s first Battle of the Brands poll.

Seattle branding and PR firm GreenRubino and the Puget Sound Business Journal asked readers to vote on the most respected company in various industry categories.

The winners of that poll were staged to compete in an online voting bracket tournament which began on July 29.

In addition to Chateau Ste. Michelle, distinguished Washington organizations like Starbucks, Microsoft, Nordstrom and law firm Perkins Coie competed in the poll.

More than 20,000 people voted in the final round with Chateau Ste. Michelle earning 60 percent of the vote.

"We are honored to be included among the leading brands in the state and we appreciate that so many fans took the time to cast their vote for Chateau Ste. Michelle," said Jan Barnes, vice president of marketing.

During the four week tournament, nearly 60,000 votes were cast online.
