NSD Boundary Meeting to discuss impact to Woodinville’s elementary schools

  • Written by Woodinville Weekly Staff
The Northshore School District (NSD) held an open house  on  March 12 to outline proposed changes to school boundaries within the Woodinville area.  The proposed changes could impact students at Bear Creek, Cottage Lake, Eastridge, Sunrise or Wellington Elementary Schools depending on which option the district chooses to implement.
Over  100 people  were in attendance, learning about the proposed changes and to ask questions and express their opinion about what was being purposed.  The district had many employees in attendance to answer questions and two NSD administration employees, Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Joe Paperman and Deputy Superintendent Duggan Harman ran the question and answer session of the meeting.
The proposed changes are due to students enrolled in Elementary Advanced Placement (EAP) program being moved back to regional elementary schools in the 2020-21 school year.  The regional EAP schools will be located in each of the four high school feeder patterns.   Currently, some of the EAP students attending at Bear Creek Elementary (BCE) will be relocated to a school in the North Creek High School feeder pattern.
