The Falcons Boys’ wrestling team entered last Thursday’s dual meet with the Kangaroos and Rebels short-handed, as not all on their roster were eligible for competition.

But they turned in a strong performance and came oh so close to a clean sweep. Woodinville beat Lake Washington 48-31 but dropped a 43-34 match to Juanita.

“It was a close dual,” Coach Todd Christensen said. “We ended up with four forfeits and that was the difference. It’s early in the season, but we are right on track and we are super excited with the growth of our team.”

Woodinville took part in the Lake Washington Invitational Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 14 and was at Mountlake Terrace High School for a double dual meet with the Hawks and Meadowdale Mavericks, but the results of the competition were not available at press time.
