Just like the girls the game before, the Woodinville boys’ basketball team took the floor shorthanded Friday against Eastlake.

Senior forward John Villasenor —perhaps the player the Falcons can least afford to be without — was out with illness.

The Wolves, large up front and quick in the back court, quickly pounced and grabbed a 17-8 lead after one quarter and led 33-20 at the half.

The Falcons made a brief run in the third, closing to 41-35 after Jake Miller’s three-ball at the three minute mark. But Woodinville’s defense had no firm answer inside, and the Wolves made it 48-35 in a hurry, 50-37 at the end of the period.

The final score was 63-46.

Senior post Quentin Parker led Woodinville, now 1-2 in KingCo play, 1-5 overall, with 13 points and 8 rebounds.
