Chrysalis High School Sophomore Wins 2018 Men's Junior Olympics National Gymnastics Championship

Chrysalis High School’s Dante Hays, won the 2018 Men’s Junior Olympics National Gymnastics Championship for the 15-year-old division in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on May 12th, 2018.
Hays earned the All Around Gold, Gold in Parallel Bars, Bronze on High Bar, 6th place on Rings, 8th place on Pommel Horse, and 10th place on Floor. Dante also received an Academic All American Award for maintaining a 4.0 GPA in High School while simultaneously dedicating more than 20 hours per week to training.

A Somber end to a Sensational Season

The Kingco 4A tourney has long been Woodinville’s rite of passage. A precursor to playing for all the marbles in the State Tournament.

But not so this season.

Last Thursday, as the final out was recorded, the Newport Knights rushed from their dugout to celebrate near second base. The Woodinville Falcons, meanwhile, walked off the field looking stunned.
The day before, Woodinville had lost to Eastlake in the Kingco 4A Championship. Now they had lost 9-1 to Newport. This meant that Eastlake and Newport advanced to Spokane this week for the 4A State Tournament. And the Lady Falcons, for the first time in recent memory, will stay home.

Falcons conquer Curtis, advance to semi-finals

Woodinville is now two wins from winning a State title. Last Friday night, the Falcons made the two-hour bus ride to University Place. The result was a rousing 10-5 win over Curtis. With the win, Woodinville advanced to the State semifinals.

“The boys just fought,” Woodinville coach Pete Crowley said. “We had some injuries this week. We came into the game with starting attackers down. We talked about how we’re a brotherhood and a family and guys need to step up. That’s exactly what happened.”

Pilukas sets High Jump record; Five Falcons headed to State

Holland Pilukas has finally made it official.
 
A year ago while at Timbercrest Junior High, she broke the Woodinville High School record in the high jump at 5’5 1/4. But she wasn’t a WHS student, so her name couldn’t crack the record books.
But that point is now moot. Last week at Districts, Pilukas cleared the bar at 5’6”. This set a new school record and bettered all her competitors. This feat qualified the quiet freshman for State.

Wyatt Mosher Heading to State!

Woodinville High School senior Wyatt Mosher will be attending the  State High School Men's Golf Tournament in Tri-Cities on May 22 & 23. Wyatt qualified during districts last fall and since has been participating in local and out of state tournaments.  The men's golf team had a tremendous turnout this last season and hope to see the continued support and enthusiasm for the seasons to come.  Good Luck Wyatt!
