The quilt turning was part of Duvall’s annual Outdoor Quilt Show held on Sept. 28. This year’s show was forced indoors due to inclement weather. The Duvall Outdoor Quilt Show Board counted the ballots and here are the winners:

The People’s Choice in the D.O.Q.S. was #93, "Scrappy Squares" made by Michelle Ellsworth Church. This quilt features more than 10,000 individually pieced 1" squares.

The 1st Runner Up was # 134, "Tropical Stars" made by Mary Lou Rentz.  This batik quilt features blue stars on a cream background.

The 2nd Runner Up was #51, "Baltimore Bunnies" made by Susan Giacomi.  Needle-turned appliquéd bunnies hopped around flowers and vines on this quilt.

The Centennial Quilt Show (sponsored by Duvall’s Cascade Quilters) People’s Favorite was #14 "Tribute to Snoqualmie Valley" made by Carolyne Speir. This multi-green quilt was hand embroidered with red floss to depict scenes from the Valley.

The 1st Runner Up was # 28 made by Marie Couture with a needle-turned appliqué of "Uncle Wiggly" as the centerpiece. (The model for this has stood for years outside Duvall Books.)

The 2nd Runner Up was # 27, a set of two framed quilts brought in by Sheila Schencke and made by her mother-in-law, Dorothy Schencke.  One is called "Dad’s Ties and Shirts," the other is called "Mom’s Dresses."
