The grand re-opening celebration will be on a weekend in May.  The dates are not yet set but will be announced on the tavern’s Facebook page and on their website

The owners have developed and renovated several successful establishments in their past including Valhalla Bar and Grill in Pullman and Kirkland and the Marco Polo in Seattle. Scott and Cielita recently purchased a home in Duvall and plan to stay long-term.

The renovations
“Restoring old commercial buildings is a bit of an addiction for me,” says Scott. “This will be the fifth building that we’ve restored. I drove by the Duvall Tavern for a few months with the For Sale sign outside.  I started telling myself…. ‘We can do this.’ Our hope for the Duvall Tavern is that it remains a community establishment, not just a bar. We want to maintain and respect the history and character while updating it with a needed renovation.”

There are several flat screen TV’s (this will be the spot to watch all local games!), retro décor, and more. Scott says, “The tavern’s famous slopped floor remains – for Duvall Days we’ll do a marble roll for the kids with prizes.”

The menu
The owners have developed a cost-conscious menu that everyone can afford.

“Modern Pub Fare” menu includes traditional items such as burgers and fries and more unique items like the “Top Notch Reuben” and “Linda’s Famous Ham and Cheese Sandwich,” paying tribute to Linda Newkirk, the well-known tavern owner from the 1980’s and 90’s.

The menu also showcases the Hippie Burger, Tavern Club and the Purple Bird. Many items are locally sourced and the new layout can accommodate large groups or parties.

The Duvall Tavern will also offer spirits and root beer on tap for the kids!

Hours of operation
11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. – full lunch and dinner menu, family friendly; 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. – over 21 only.
