RunDuvall 5K/10K and Irwin Half Marathon winners announced

The winners of the Riverview Educational Foundation RunDuvall 5K/10K races and the Irwin Half Marathon on June 1 have been announced. The 10K male winner was Mack Young of Redmond and 10K female winner was Erica McElrea of Snohomish.

Winner of the Irwin Half Marathon male division was Jordan Andersen of Kirkland and the Irwin Half Marathon female winner was Lisa Steilen of Redmond. Eric Garner of Woodinville won the 5K male division for the 9th year in a row and Karra Whitmire of Bothell won the 5K female division.

(Photo by Jim Bennett)Race coordinator Paige Denison reported that 755 participants were registered in the four race distances: RunDuvall 5K/10K, Irwin Half Marathon and IRG Duvall Physical Therapy Kid’s Dashes. Soft numbers indicated a net profit of over $15,000 was raised for health and wellness programs in the Riverview schools, the most they have ever raised in a one-day race event.

The certified races are part of the age-graded Snoqualmie Valley Cup featuring the coveted Top Male Runner and Top Female Runner awards as well as cash prizes. The next race, the Fall City Fun Run, is set for June 14, and the Run for the Pies in Carnation is July 4.
