It is an honor to serve on the Duvall City Council. Prior to serving on the Council, I was unanimously appointed to the Planning Commission and was a congressional aide, working closely with the City and residents of Duvall. I have experience managing a non-profit business association and have built strong relationships with organizations that are helpful to our community.
My priorities are public safety, local economic recovery, and maintaining our family-friendly community.
As a parent, I appreciate Duvall for its family-friendly, small-town character and for the fact that it is the safest city in King County – two years running. We must work to continue this trend and to support safe schools, parks, and neighborhoods.
The current economy will not defeat us. Duvall is a resilient community. With strong leadership and policies that address the needs of citizens and businesses, we will succeed.
As chair of the Economic Development Committee, I have worked closely with the Chamber of Commerce, residents and others to help save our calendar of events and to establish a stronger brand for Duvall that will help us attract the right businesses and address long-term revenues without raising taxes. By capitalizing on our home-grown ingenuity we will weather these tough economic times and be stronger in the long term.
My track record on the Council demonstrates that I am a strong advocate for Duvall and that I have helped bring people together to work for the best interests of our town.
If re-elected, I will continue to insist on responsibility and accountability in city government, which includes keeping taxes low and building policies that favor a community full of opportunity. I thank those who have shared their thoughts with me about the future of Duvall and I ask for your vote on November 3rd!

My husband and I made Duvall our home in 2001 for the quality of life, proximity to Microsoft and sense of community that provides the small town feel that so many of us cherish.
I have served as vice-chair of the Planning Commission since 2008, providing recommendations related to growth, transportation and recreation. I supported the Parks, Trails and Open Space Plan approved in 2009 ensuring more recreational opportunities for future generations.
I currently manage legislative affairs for Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon, working on policy, serving on regional committees and as a public information officer during floods, snowstorms and pandemic flu. Previously I served as legislative assistant to State Representative Larry Springer where I worked closely with Duvall citizens to address public safety concerns, encourage smart growth and protect individual property rights.
Since August, I have visited more than 1,500 households, listening to citizens concerns and desires for our city. The top 3 concerns residents have expressed to me are a desire to keep our small town feel, keep our community safe, and a belief that new development should pay for itself.
I will bring an experienced, balanced perspective to the city council and always put the interests of our citizens first.
I will fight efforts to provide giveaways to builders. I will make sure that builders pay their fair share for the roads, sidewalks and sewers new homes require—not those of us who already live here.
I will support policies that help our small businesses be successful and encourage more family restaurants and niche small businesses on Main Street.
I will vote against unnecessary tax increases for our residents and actively seek creative funding alternatives for city projects.
I will support our first responders, and make sure they have the resources they need to keep us safe.
