On January 26th the Riverview Education Foundation presented its newest grant awards to the Riverview School District.
Thirty grants were awarded for a total of $34,874.48. REF grants provide funding for a wide assortment of programs, materials and equipment that enhance the educational opportunities of students in Riverview schools.
Some of this year’s grants include:
• Physical science lab equipment for Tolt Middle School
• Orchestra instruments for the district orchestra
• Subscriptions to BrainPOP.com for Cherry Valley, Carnation and Stillwater elementary schools to give students access to enhanced curriculum
• Leveled reading books for the library at Carnation Elementary
• A digital camcorder for Tolt Middle School tech classes & clubs
• Partial funding for a "sport court" for the Eagle Rock Multi-age program
• "ActiVotes" and "ActivExpressions" remotes for Cedarcrest High School and Stillwater to allow student interaction with Promethean whiteboards
• Partial funding for headsets and intercom equipment for Cedarcrest High School drama productions
The Riverview Education Foundation is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the education of Riverview students. REF grants are funded entirely by donations and from money raised at special events, and all proceeds benefit Riverview schools.
