Eagle Eye Vision Care, PS, is celebrating its tenth year serving Woodinville and the surrounding area.

Dr. Kerri W. Scarbrough, OD, opened her private, full-time practice in downtown Woodinville in April of 2000. She has helped patients with blurry vision, uncomfortable computer use, contact lens issues, allergy and dry eyes, eye infections, glaucoma, and red or scratched eyes.

Dr. Scarbrough is a residency-trained optometric physician. This meant being chosen from many applicants for an extra year of intensive training. During her residency at American Lake and Seattle VAs she worked with veterans with multiple medical problems such as strokes and Alzheimer’s. Dr. Scarbrough then spent several years as director for a low-income clinic, doctor for a downtown surgeon, and in various optometric offices.

Not only is the office operated full time but Dr. Scarbrough has been involved locally with the Woodinville Business and Professional Women organization, Homeward Pets shelter, and the City Council. She and her husband live in Woodinville.

Debra Nelson, Eagle Eye’s office manager, is the pleasant voice on the phone. Debra has helped area residents choose great glasses, make appointments, and check on insurance for over five years. She is a native of the Seattle area.

Brian Fountain is the Woodinville optician who makes many of the prescription lenses for Eagle Eye. He has been making lenses in the Seattle area for over 35 years.

Linda Martindell of Totem Travel named top Fiji Matai Specialist at annual Matai Convention in the Fiji Islands

Owner and President Linda Martindell of Totem Travel in Seattle, Washington was recently named winner of the inaugural Top Fiji Matai Specialist award (Tabua Tier Level) at the 2009 Matai Convention which recently was held at the Intercontinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa in Fiji.

Martindell was recognized as the top selling travel agent for the Fiji Islands for 2009. Tourism Fiji, together with Air Pacific, Fiji’s international airline, spearheaded the first ever Matai Convention recently held in Fiji, giving Fiji top travel agents around the country a change to experience many of the Pacific Island nation’s new resorts and attractions and recognizing them for their selling efforts.

"Through The Matai - Fiji Islands Specialist Program, our destination loyalty program for North American travel agents who specialize in selling vacations to Fiji, we familiarize, educate and continually keep travel agents updated with what’s happening in Fiji," says Ili Matatolu, regional director The Americas, Tourism Fiji, the national tourist board for the Fiji Islands. According To Matatolu, the word "Matai" is one who is knowledgeable about Fiji’s tourism products and is the ultimate guide, providing travelers with an up-to-date account of the benefits and values of an enhanced Fiji experience.

Totem Travel specializes in honeymoons and all inclusive vacations, and personal specialties include Fiji, Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand and Sandals Resorts.

Tourism Fiji’s Matai Specialist program was a perfect fit for Totem Travel because they focus on in- depth product knowledge and rarely recommend a resort or destination they haven’t visited. Their outstanding training and familiarization trips allowed Martindell to visit most of the Fijian islands in just a few years, so she can now differentiate and confidently recommend resorts at every price level to honeymoon clients.

As the winner, Martindell is the recipient of the prestigious Fiji Matai of the Year Trophy, and has earned a place as a premium partner with Tourism Fiji in the U.S. market.
