Pet of the Week - June 28, 2010

Brownie_POWHello everyone! My name is Brownie. I’m here to spread the word that I desperately need a good home.

I’ve been a resident at Homeward Pet for a while now, and I’m looking forward to meeting my new owner. They tell me my new person is coming anytime, so I’ve been keeping a close eye on the adoption floor door.

The first thing people notice about me is my undeniable cuteness, but I have much more to offer than being doggy eye-candy. I’m just under a year old, so I have energy to burn.

Being an active an outgoing young dog, I believe I’d make a perfect companion for an active person, and I’m available now for summer fun.

People describe me as being like a little stick of dynamite. Although I weigh 26 pounds, I’m really a big dog in a small package. I like to wrestle and romp with the big boys, and dream of having a canine friend to tag along with.

Being part cattle dog, I’m naturally intelligent. Regular physical and mental stimulation keeps me happy. As you might know, we cattle dogs like to have jobs to do. My instincts tell me that I need to herd small animals, so I’d be a better match with bigger dogs. They’re more my style anyway.

I met this creature called a cat for the first time the other day. I wasn’t sure what to think of it. I might like to meet one again sometime, but I’m not so sure about living with one yet.

I like being a lap dog, and really want to be part of any action that’s going on around me.

Homeward offers a training package, which will be included in my adoption donation. I’m excited for new learning opportunities, and can’t wait to get started with my new person. I’m told it’s a great bonding experience. I could use a little work on my housetraining, but I’m sure I can pick it up quickly. I just need to get the routine down.

After a long day of fun and adventure, you’ll find that I like snuggling and enjoying quiet time in the evenings. I’ll even drift off to dream in your arms, reassured that I’ve found my one and only.

I hope you will consider me for your next pet. Please know that I’ll be waiting here for you, longing for the day we can be together forever.
