ShareEach year, the Washington State Cheer Coaches Association awards over $15,000 year in scholarships.
Criteria for this award include a 3.0 at the end of their junior year, a completed application, an essay, written recommendations from both teacher, coach and administrators, as well as a portfolio of pictures and awards depicting their time and dedication to the cheer squad.
This year Cedarcrest High School senior Sarah MacMillan was one out of fifteen cheerleaders in the state to win this scholarship in the amount of $1,000.
Sarah is the first-ever Cedarcrest High School cheerleader to win this award.
