On the afternoon of Wednesday, June 1st the commons area at Cedarcrest High School was filled to capacity with students, staff and volunteers anxiously organizing the area for the 2011 Senior Awards Night celebration.

This very special evening held each year at CHS is attended not only by parents and families of graduates, but also community members who have heard rave reviews of this truly inspiring evening.

This event not only highlights the accomplishments of all CHS graduating students, but also shares the profound commitment and dedication of the teachers and administration at Cedarcrest.

As the awards were given, staff and other presenters shared of their personal experiences with these students, affirming their pride in the students’ dedication to learning and of their many accomplishments.

The evening began with inspiring music performed by the CHS Jazz Choir and Band, led by Music Director Ryan Lewis, entertaining the audience with heartwarming ballads such as "I’ll Be Seeing You."

Once all guests were seated Principal Clarence Lavarias and Vice Principal Ray La Bate welcomed everyone and began announcing the first group of many high achieving students.

The following is a list of all 2011 CHS honor graduates:

Brandon Asheim, Eleanor Bailey, Glynis Bawden, Lindsey Bottman, Megan Caros, Alea Carr, Colton Cox, Tenaya Davis, Catherine DeBacker, Erica Debrecht, Josh Denison, Katie Gronberg, Elizabeth Ish, Chelsea Judd, Shawn Klopp, Jessica Knoth, Haley Knox, Dallas Kramer, CJ Mowry, Jeffrey Miller, Loren Myers, Tyler Nesbitt, Kelly O’Connor, Samuel Panek, Zach Schutte, Lindsey Smith, Emma Stapp, Grace Stocker, Cara Strodel, Jenifer Wetli, Zachary Wilhelm, Richelle Wilson.

Principal Clarence Lavarias had this to say about the extraordinary class of 2011: "With less than 200 students and not all reporting their scholarship and awards information, for the class to receive over 3.3 million dollars in scholarships and awards is amazing. Our community should be very proud of our students and their accomplishments."
