The annual Sandblast Festival held at McCormick Park on the shore of the Snoqualmie River in Duvall is looking for artists to demonstrate, display and sell their work at the arts fair on a grassy knoll overlooking the river and sand sculpture area.
The main goal of the festival is to celebrate the arts and introduce and promote local and regional artists and art organizations. The dates for this year’s festival are Saturday and Sunday, July 23-24. The festival features a professional and community sand sculpture event and includes live music, dance and performance, story telling and an art and craft fair.
All applicants must complete an entry form, sign and date the agreement and submit photos/slides or other samples of their work and include the $35 application fee to be considered.
All applications must be received by the July 5, 2011, deadline. Applicants will be judged on the quality and originality of the work submitted.
Special consideration will be given to artists who indicate that they are willing to demonstrate their technique/medium at their booth during the festival. All items sold at the festival must be hand made by the artist. No commercial or mass produced merchandise will be permitted. All artists are responsible for their own booth and display.
Each artist will be assigned a 6x10 or 10x10 space depending on preference and availability. Electricity will be available on a very limited basis. Running water will be accessible.
Art festival hours are Saturday and Sunday, noon– 6 p.m. Booth set-up is Friday evening 5-8 p.m.
