Fall Harvest Farm Tours Sept. 24

  • Written by Valley View Staff

The annual Fall Harvest Farm Tours are set for Saturday, Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Snoqualmie Valley farms that will be open for tours include Baxter Barn, Alpacas at Legacy Ranch, Fall City Farms, Jubilee Farm, Carnation Tree Farm/Hjertoos Farm, Dog Mountain Farm and Oxbow Farm.

By visiting the farms, you can learn about sustainable farming methods and the environmental stewardship that farmers provide while enjoying the bounty that rural counties offer.

Local farmers cultivate some of our most vulnerable lands and waterways. Visitors should remember that sustainable farming depends on King and Pierce County residents buying locally – so come prepared to buy farm-fresh products.

On the farms, visitors can see various farm animals, tour barns and historic homesteads, have a picnic and shop at farm stores. Most of these farms have partnered with the King County Conservation District to protect natural resources, improve water quality and promote stewardship.

WSU King County Extension provides resources that help individuals improve stewardship and quality of life.
