The landscape photography of John Shephard will be on display at Village Wines Oct. 21 and 22 from 5-8 p.m. on Friday and 2-7 p.m. on Saturday. John was a member of the first graduating class of Woodinville High School. Upon graduation from WSU he became a member of the faculty at Chrysalis High School in Woodinville where he currently teaches photography, among other disciplines. He met world renowned photographer Ken Duncan in the tulip fields of La Conner and went on to become his assistant in Australia over a two year leave of absence from teaching. He also accompanied Ken in their photographic tour of all the states in America which resulted in the highly successful book America Wide. In 2002 his work received acclaim in the book The World’s Top Photographers/Landscape. His photographs currently adorn the walls of the Brian Carter Winery, as well as other businesses around town and may also be viewed online at the John Shephard Gallery. The artist will be present at the showing to meet patrons, answer questions and autograph his prints on request. There will also be live acoustic guitar music as well as wine, beer and food available throughout the afternoon and evening.
