The Northshore Holiday Showcase, a special event planned to celebrate the talent of Northshore students, is scheduled at Molbak’s on Veterans Day weekend with activities taking place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Nov 11-13.
Grab your camera, load up your car with the family and head to Woodinville to enjoy several free family-friendly activities, inspiration for the holidays and more than 25 varieties of poinsettias.
With each purchase you make, you’ll be helping the Northshore Schools Foundation (NSF), benefitting all students in the Northshore School District.
“This event creates a great opportunity for the staff, parents and alumni of the Northshore School District to get a jump start on their holiday shopping and raise much needed funds for our schools,” says Carmin Dalziel, executive director of the Northshore Schools Foundation. “We love these win/win/win opportunities where people get a quality shopping experience, we are able to support our local economy and there is a direct benefit to our students, too.”
During the kick-off event, students from the Northshore Teaching Academy will supervise a free children’s craft area along with a cookie decorating station and holiday card making station to honor the military.
Check out more than 100 seasonal art designs created by NSD elementary students, and the table decorating display featuring holiday themes and colors.
The entire event is coordinated by the students of the NSD event, hospitality and tourism management a high school career technical education (CTE) course in the Northshore District.
Instructor Geoffrey Gilmore comments: “I am extremely proud of the students in our event planning class who have worked diligently coordinating this event and have generated a wide assortment of support from students and programs throughout the district. We are excited to be involved in showcasing the talents of Northshore students.”
Molbak’s, a long-standing supporter and founding partner of Northshore Schools Foundation, will donate a portion of the proceeds from sales during their holiday kick-off weekend to the foundation which funds programs that enhance the learning opportunities of all Northshore students through grants to support innovative classroom programs, district needs and teachers enrolled in the National Board Teacher Certification Program.
