Bethel quarterback Justin Hordyk rushed for 113 yards with two touchdowns and passed for 150 more with another score as the Braves fought off a late Bothell surge to eliminate the Cougars 24-22 at Art Crate Field in Spanaway on Friday.

Bethel (8-2) will travel to Pop Keeney Stadium on Saturday to take on undefeated Woodinville (10-0), while Bothell finishes its season 6-4.

Bothell, led by junior Danny Wilson’s 124 yards on 13 carries, outgained Bethel 236-206 on the ground, but senior Cougar quarterback Austen Dahl completed only 3-of-11 passes for 47 yards.

Bethel fumbled five times but Bothell could only come up with one of them. The Cougars committed no turnovers.

Down 24-16 entering the fourth quarter, Wilson broke for a 47-yard TD run to make it 24-22. A two-point conversion pass attempt was batted away.

Earlier, after Dahl scored on a 27-yard keeper, the Cougars’ extra point attempt was blocked.

Bothell, on its final drive, turned the ball over on downs at the Bethel 35-yard line with four minutes remaining.

Hordyk, who was 15- for-20 through the air, then engineered two first downs to milk the clock.

Bothell senior Seymour Ottorbech ran for a 27-yard touchdown on the game’s third play. Cougar senior linebacker Nick Anthony made 10 solo tackles.
