Christmas in Carnation Dec. 3

  • Written by Valley View Staff

Christmas in Carnation is the 1st Saturday of December, but to prepare for the celebration there are many things that need to be done beforehand. This year the Chamber of Commerce needs your help. The City of Carnation has had some major cutbacks with the budget this year. One of the cuts is the decorating of the Tolt Commons (the park across from City Hall & adjacent to Pete’s Club Grill). The city will continue to decorate the main tree and the poles along Tolt Avenue.

We are inviting families and business owners to sponsor a tree in the park this year. At 1 p.m. meet at the park with LED lights (they must be LED) to decorate a tree. Be creative, but appropriate. The Carnation Chamber will be supplying the ladders, extension cords and handing out hot chocolate. We will reveal the finished project on December 3rd when the lights are turned on at Christmas in Carnation. Please help us make this a special and hopefully a tradition in our city for years to come. Enjoy breakfast at Pete’s Club Grill or Sliders. Ixtapa opens at 11 a.m., Lazy K’s opens at 4 p.m. Make a day of it.

Christmas in Carnation: We have added Breakfast with Santa to the festivities of Christmas in Carnation. The morning of December 3rd from 9-11 you may enjoy breakfast with Santa at Sliders. Enjoy pancakes, scrambled eggs, choice of bacon or sausage, coffee, juice and milk. Cost is $6; $4 for kids 10 & under. To reserve your spot go to Tolt Congregational Church and the Sno-Valley Senior Center will be having their annual craft bazaar all day. (The Sno-Valley Senior Center bazaar this year will be held at the American Legion Hall on Bird Street). The parade will begin at 5:15 p.m. Santa arrives at 5:20 p.m. Tree lighting at 5:45 p.m.. Mother & Child will be available for a quiet room & restrooms.

The Chamber is raffling off the LAST Bob Andrealli Christmas ornament. This was the 1st one of the collection. The raffle is $10, you can purchase your raffle ticket at Miller’s, Carnation Corners or Ixtapa. Tickets on sale now. The raffle will be held at Christmas in Carnation. This is a fund- raiser for the Chamber.
