Snohomish Conservation District announces 2012 Plant Sale

The annual tree and shrub sale at the Fairgrounds in Monroe will be held March 2 and 3.

Over 60,000 plants are sold to the public annually for use as backyard bird habitat, erosion control, windbreaks, hedgerows and reforestation. Small trees, shrubs, perennials and groundcover plants can be purchased during the two-day event, cash and checks only.

Meet-Up’s and Mug-Up’s

Neighbors, co-workers or organized groups like garden clubs who want to get together and learn about a myriad of backyard conservation and farm-related topics can request a ‘Meet-up’ or ‘Mug-up’ from Snohomish Conservation District.

Staff from the District will bring the coffee and a speaker on topics including: backyard composting, rain gardens and rain barrels, farming with small livestock, managing wildlife/stream habitat and more.

Mug-up’s are geared towards neighborhood groups and clubs, meet-up’s are for businesses that would like a lunch-time speaker. There is no charge for the speaker.
