|Fundraiser to benefit Alzheimer’s research|
|Written by Woodinville Weekly Staff|
Ciscoe Morris and Graham Kerr, both Northwest favorites, are appearing at My Garden Nursery in Mill Creek for a big fundraiser for Alzheimers research May 16.
This is a first for My Garden Nursery, which in the past has done auctions, garden parties and seminars with great success.
The evening fundraiser will include a five course dinner with wine, auction and dinner show. The seating price depends on how close you are sitting to Ciscoe and Graham. Tickets are available at the nursery.
Dinner starts with salmon hors d’oeuvres, then a salad of organic wild greens with fresh herbs tossed with an herb-infused tangerine vinaigrette and topped with a flower petal, pistachio and herb encrusted medallion of chevre. The rest of the dinner is a secret but worth waiting for. Debra Lane of Chef to Go, a local Bothell business, is catering dinner.
The auction will feature a select group of 10 amazing items like Ciscoe Morris Visiting YOUR garden.
Graham Kerr goes up against Bill Raynolds, co-owner of My Garden, in a version of the TV cooking show called “Chopped.”
They will be competing against each other to create the best tasting drink with four secret ingredients in a basket.
Then Ciscoe Morris competes against Bill and two lucky customers. They will create fabulous container gardens out of the unusual items found in our “Pruned” basket.
Instead of being “Chopped” like on TV, the contestants will be “Pruned” until only one remains. The winner will be crowned king or ueen!
My Garden Nursery has won Evening Magazines Best of Western Washington Garden Center for the last two years.
