PONCHO will host its 21st annual International Wine Auction for the Arts at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel on Friday, May 11.
The event welcomes honorary vintner Jean-Guillaume Prats of Château Cos d’Estournel and proceeds will benefit PONCHO’s Arts Education Initiative.This year’s theme is La Grande Fête de Bordeaux and the auction will highlight wines from around the world and Washington state and feature two fundraising events in May including the International Wine Auction Dinner and an exclusive VIP Vintner Dinner with Prats on Saturday, May 12. Fritz Hatton, one of the nation’s leading wine auctioneers, will be joined by mistress of ceremonies and Seattle journalist Patti Payne to guide auction guests through an evening of rare wine and spectacular travel opportunities. Highly anticipated auction lots include bottles of the 2009 Château Cos d’Estournel (awarded a perfect 100 by Wine Advocate), collections of Mouton-Rothschild, 12-year verticals of Quilceda Creek, a vast selection of large format bottles from every region and travel experiences including Bordeaux, New York, Napa, Maui and Tahiti.
The VIP Vintner Dinner with Jean-Guillaume Prats will bring VIP ticket holders together to experience a five-course dinner with wine pairings at the Lake Washington waterfront home of Michael and Lauri Corliss. The menu, designed by chefs of RN74, Marché Bistro and Bastille Café and Bar will include duck from Maple Leaf Farms, lamb from Superior Farms and seasonal produce from Charlie’s Produce all paired with exclusive Château Cos d’Estournel wines.
