Duvall Foundation for the Arts (DFA) presents the 7th Annual Paris in June ~ Art in Bloom Garden Art & Sculpture Event Friday, June 22. Gala starts at 6 p.m. at Kokopelli Gardens in Duvall.  Proceeds benefit DFA’s youth and adult scholarships and community grants awarded each year.

Gala guests will enjoy a complimentary wine and beer reception, heavy appetizers, live entertainment  and hundreds of pieces of local art, all for sale at affordable prices. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/242001

The Gardens remain open for viewing and purchasing of art during the weekend at no cost. Saturday and Sunday hours are 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (June 23rd and 24th).

Event co-chair, Julie Frazier says this year’s Paris in June theme represents, “A romantic, spring evening filled with fabulous art, food, wine and friends.  It’s a wonderful way to support the arts.”

Co-chair Jody Doran says, “This annual event raises much needed funds for art education for those that otherwise would be unable to afford it. Many of the artists will be there as well to answer questions about their work. This event showcases them and brings the community together in a beautiful, relaxed setting.  It’s the perfect spring evening!”

This year’s event has returning local artists: Dan Cautrell, Joe Lee Davidson, Karl Hufbauer, Stan Cozad, Tracey Pemberton, and Brian Kerns, and will feature new artists, including Dan Klennert (sculpture), Beri Geraci (concrete leaf castings), Patty Franklin (mosaics), Kristen Simpson (glass) and Carmen Komm (mosaics), plus many more.

The gardens will be filled with music provided by local musicians: Elle Flutes, “A Trio with Many Flutes” and cello and violin duo, Diane Tremaine and Jane Pattinson.

“There is a piece of garden art for everyone to take home!

“This event is about promoting local artists and their exceptional work. We hope art lovers will come find that special piece of art they connect with and perhaps develop a new friendship with a local artist,” said Kim Piira, DFA board president.

Many thanks go to event sponsors: Duvall Performing Arts, EF Print & Copy Center, The Laurel Tree, and Match Coffee & Wine.
