Angelo Girone, 84, died peacefully at home on June 16 after battling leukemia.
Angelo spent his childhood years in Wellsburg, W.Va., before moving west to Indiana, California and finally Washington, where he was a longtime resident of Bellevue and Woodinville.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and an extraordinary sales manager during a lifelong career at Household Finance Corporation where he was widely admired and respected for his ability to inspire and mentor others.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Angelina Tedeschi Girone; siblings, Thelma Montgomery, John Girone, Tony Girone and Jim Girone; and best friend, Donald Petrick Sr.
He is survived by his recent bride, Dottie Brown; daughters, Susan Cothern and Julie Girone; grandchildren, Jace and Mary; great-grandchildren, Taleah and Giovanni; his sister, Martha Lallone; his brother, Joe Girone and numerous nieces and nephews.
Angelo was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and had a vast network of friends with whom he spent many happy hours, including the Tuesday morning coffee  club in Woodinville; Friday morning Mass and breakfast with the Knights of Columbus and lunches with his HFC coworkers.
He was a favorite grandpa and uncle to many and was most happy when surrounded by his children and grandchildren at family gatherings and holidays. He was a generous and kind man with a great sense of humor who will be missed by all who knew him.
We are grateful for the wonderful care Angelo received from Dr. Timothy Carlos and the staff at Cascade Cancer Care.
A funeral Mass and reception will be held on Friday, June 29 at 11 a.m. at St. Jude Parish, 10526 166th Avenue NE, Redmond WA 98052.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Angelo may be made to Puget Sound Blood Center Development Office, 921 Terry Avenue, Seattle WA 98104.
