After the completion of the last race of the series on July 4, the scores were tallied and Carla Darr, a first time participant in the race series, won this year’s Valley Cup for women.
Darr, a Woodinville personal trainer, runs with Club Northwest and coaches cross country and track for The Bear Creek School. She began running when she was 10, sprinted through high school and later found success as a marathon runner, which included 10 consecutive trips to Boston. She placed first in her age group at Bloomsday this past May and ran a personal best time at the Fall City 10K last month. Her goal is to always run to glorify God and stay healthy to run on the CNW XC National Team again in fall 2013.
