Burglary suspects arrested

  • Written by Sgt. Cindi West, King County Sheriff’s Office
Good police work and a video recording of two suspects committing a burglary led to their arrest late Friday night at a motel in Kenmore.

Earlier this week two men broke into a detached shed at a house in the 17100 block of 161 Ave. NE in Woodinville. The home owner had an elaborate video system and captured the suspects arriving in a vehicle and leaving with property from his shed.

The homeowner placed the video on a local media website and the story was picked up and aired by television news stations. On Friday night a Kenmore officer saw the suspect vehicle parked in front of a room at the Wagon Wheel Motel in the 8000 block of NE Bothell Way.  The officer made contact with two men who matched the description of the men in the video from the burglary.

A detective from Shoreline police assisted Kenmore police with the investigation and after a search warrant was obtained, found property from another burglary.

The suspects have been arrested and booked into the King County Jail for investigation of residential burglary.

“This is a great example of how our contract city partners work well together for the benefit of the citizens we serve,” said King County Sheriff Steve Strachan.
