Update: Culvert project near Woodinville rescheduled to September 4

  • Written by Woodinville Weekly Staff

WOODINVILLE — King County Road Services Division has rescheduled a culvert replacement project planned near Woodinville. Work will begin 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, instead of Aug. 29, and will completely close a section of 176th Avenue Northeast just south of Northeast 195th Street.

The schedule change reduces costs and keeps the road open during the Labor Day holiday weekend.

During construction, traffic can instead travel on 168th Avenue Northeast to access Northeast 195th Street. Near the construction zone flaggers will funnel traffic on Northeast 195th Street into one lane Sept. 4 through Oct. 5.

Crews plan to reopen 176th Avenue Northeast to traffic Sept. 21.

Work includes digging a 72-foot-long trench across 176th Avenue Northeast to make room for a replacement box-style culvert. The trench will be 36 feet wide and 12 feet deep to make room for eight culvert sections, each weighing 13 tons.
