Duvall’s “A Festival of Color” is returning to Duvall’s Main Street on Saturday, Sept. 29. Visitors can see a fantastic variety of quilts hung on the fronts, sides and inside some shops in Historic Duvall.
This year Duvall Outdoor Quilt Show, Inc., a non profit organization, is in charge of the show. The Quilter’s Garden and other businesses provide sponsorship for this colorful event. Diane Baker, the quilt shop’s owner, says, as she does every year, “This will be the best show we’ve ever had!” Everyone who views the quilts gets a ballot to vote for their favorite. Anyone can enter a quilt. Awards are given to the “People’s Choice” winner and a 1st, 2nd, 3rd runner-up. Quilts made by children can be entered. Antique quilts are placed indoors with story cards.
Music will be provided in two separate locations this year. The “9-Piece Bavarian Dance Band” will play about 1 p.m. across from The Quilter’s Garden. On Cherry Street, Foothills Academy will be showcasing their accomplished students. Farther south on Main Street, Jeff Zuber will be playing the guitar and singing in front of Best Buddy Dog Wash.
The show begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. For information, call The Quilter’s Garden at (425) 844-1621.
