|‘The Princess and the Pea’ coming to Molbak’s|
|Written by Woodinville Weekly Staff|
Molbak’s is excited to continue a long-standing tradition of sponsoring a free play for the community while supporting a local non-profit.
This year’s play is the Hans Christian Andersen classic tale, “The Princess and the Pea” produced, directed and adapted by B.J. Douglas and starring Daniel Goodman, Kenna Kettrick, Todd Stratton and Kate Witt.
Elementary-aged children and adults alike will enjoy the delightful and comic story of the princess who must prove she is royalty in order to marry the prince of her dreams.
Performances are Saturdays and Sundays, October 13 and 14; 20 and 21; 27 and 28 at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Each performance is 45 minutes long.
Seating is limited and on a first come, first served basis. ASL interpreters will sign the 4 p.m. performance on Sunday, October 28.
Please note: Pets are not allowed in the Events Area where the performance will be held.
This year’s beneficiary is the Northshore YMCA’s Totes-to-Go program and the Northshore Community Kitchen located at the Y at Carol Edwards Center in the heart of Woodinville.
These programs help alleviate student hunger in the community.
Although admission to the play is free, attendees are asked to consider donating canned food or other non-perishable items.
Items most needed include: elbow macaroni or spiral pasta; granola bars; peanut butter; jelly; single portion containers of applesauce or fruit; single portion containers of milk and juice; canned tuna fish; pretzels; dried fruit, such as bananas, apple slices, raisins and craisins; single serving sized hot or cold breakfast cereals; paper lunch sacks; re-sealable plastic sandwich bags.
For more information on the Northshore YMCA’s programs, please contact Julie Jacobson, (206) 749-7546 or at the CEC, (425) 286-6122.
For those interested in a bite to eat before or after the play, Molbak’s Garden Café will offer a special kid-friendly menu.
For families on the go, G&G Dogs will be selling their special “Little G” hot dogs, and Trophy Cupcakes will be onsite selling their delicious, seasonally-inspired cupcakes.
