Free holiday fun for the whole family begins Veterans Day weekend at Molbak’s annual Holiday Kick-Off, November 10-12. This special event features Northshore students and benefits the Northshore Schools Foundation (NSF). Grab your camera, load up your car with the family and head to Woodinville to enjoy several free family-friendly activities, inspiration for the holidays and more than 25 varieties of poinsettias.
Live holiday music will be performed by talented Northshore students, including an extra special Veterans Day concert at 1 p.m. on Sunday featuring students from Crystal Springs Elementary.
This is the third year Molbak’s has partnered with the Foundation for their Holiday Kick-Off Weekend, resulting in almost $9,000 in donations to date.
“This event creates a great opportunity for the staff, parents and alumni of the Northshore School District to get a jump start on their holiday shopping and raise much needed funds for our schools,” says Carmin Dalziel, executive director of the Northshore Schools Foundation. “We love these win/win/win opportunities where people get a quality shopping experience, we are able to support our local economy and there is a direct benefit to our students too.”
The entire event is coordinated by the students of the NSD event, hospitality and tourism management class, a high school Career Technical Education (CTE) course in the Northshore School District.
Instructor Geoffrey Gilmore comments: “I am extremely proud of the students in our event planning class who have worked diligently coordinating this event and have generated a wide assortment of support from students and programs throughout the district. We are excited to be involved in showcasing the talents of Northshore students.”
Molbak’s, a long-standing supporter and founding partner of NSF, will donate a portion of the proceeds from sales of their Holiday Kick-off weekend to the Foundation, which funds programs that enhance the learning opportunities of all Northshore students through grants to support innovative classroom programs, district needs and teachers enrolled in the National Board Teacher Certification Program.
