Santa and his elves personally invite you and all of your family and friends to share in the annual Reindeer Festival at Cougar Mountain Zoo (9525 SE 54th Street, Issaquah).
“We start preparing for Santa’s arrival in November, and by December 1 the zoo is magically transformed into a beautiful holiday wonderland for visitors of all ages to enjoy,” said Robyn Barfoot, head elf.
Being a day-time event, the Issaquah Reindeer Festival enables visitors to get an inside look into Santa’s world by learning how reindeer fly and sitting in Santa’s grand traveling sleigh which he uses to travel around the world.
Visitors are encouraged to write a letter to Santa in his post office and hand deliver it to the Big Man himself, have their face painted by an elf, sip on warm winter beverages and enjoy the sights and sounds of the holiday season.
The Issaquah Reindeer Festival is open December 1-23 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Santa will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., with intermittent breaks to check on his reindeer team. All proceeds from the festival go toward supporting the reindeer, their animal friends and educational programs at the zoo. For information: www.cougarmountainzoo.org.
