Sallie Bieterman, a Woodinville High School junior, recently performed with cast members of the touring Broadway musical “Wicked.” Sallie and seven other high school students were selected at audition to represent the state and join “Wicked” cast members.
Washington University in St. Louis sophomore forward Melissa Gilkey of Woodinville was selected to the 2013 D3Hoops.com Women’s Basketball Preseason All-America honorable mention team.Gilkey, who was honored as the 2012 D3Hoops.com Central Region and University Athletic Association (UAA) Rookie of the Year, was one of two UAA players to receive 2013 Preseason All-America recognition from D3Hoops.com.
Gilkey earned second-team all-UAA honors for Washington U. in 2012, starting all 27 games for the Bears in her rookie season. She finished second on the team in scoring (10.9 ppg), while leading the Bears in rebounding (7.3 per game).
Woodinville High School swim and dive athletes, Taylor Bingea, Jessica Bruce, Katie Davidson, Sarah Davidson, Erika Kelso and Rachael Roberts competed in the WIAA state swim and dive meet in Federal Way. Three athletes secured times/scores that allowed them to compete in finals. Swimmer Taylor Bingea (10th grade), placed 14th in the 500 Free with a time of 5:25.79. Diver Erika Kelso (10th grade), placed 14th with 292.65 points. Diver Rachael Roberts (11th grade), placed 10th with 307.20 points.
Paul Bugallo, a 2010 graduate of Woodinville High School, played Adrian in Central Washington University’s Central Theatre ensemble production of “The Tempest.” Bugallo is a junior in the Bachelor of Fine Arts-Performance program at CWU.
His parents are George and Denise Bugallo of Woodinville.
