Cedarcrest High School graduate becomes Duvall’s newest U.S. Marine

Private Jake T. Starbard, age 18 of Duvall, graduated from United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego on November 30th, 2012.

Private Jake T. Starbard successfully completed thirteen weeks of intensive basic training at MCRD San Diego as one of 504 recruits of Lima Company and 84 recruits assigned to Platoon 3251.

While in basic training, Private Jake T. Starbard was selected as Fire Team Leader during the Combat Training week of Phase two at Camp Pendleton.

Private Jake T. Starbard qualified the highest of his platoon on the rifle range, earning him the title of Rifle Expert.

Following ten days home on leave and twenty-one days assisting local recruiters, he will report to Camp Pendleton for one month at Military Combat Training, then Military Occupation Specialty School at Camp Lejuene, North Carolina.

Private Jake T. Starbard graduated from Cedarcrest High School in June of 2012 and started US Marine Corps Boot Camp Training on September 4th, 2012.

Jake currently resides in Duvall with his mother Shelly Burtis and friend Jeff Kissinger.
