How the garden will look in winter is often forgotten when gardeners plan their gardens.  It is easy to get carried away with the excitement of spring blooms, the riot of summer colors, and the vibrant changes of leaves turning in fall.  But what does winter have to offer?  Learn from horticulturalist Peggy Campbell how to add beauty and interest to the winter landscape.

Campbell will recommend her favorite trees, shrubs and garden plants that add flowers, color, fragrance or texture to the winter garden in a free presentation, Plants that Shine throughout the Winter, on Saturday, January 26, 10 to 11 a.m. at Molbak’s.

Campbell is followed at noon by professional photographer David Perry who will speak on winter photography.

Perry has travelled the world on commercial photos shoots and brings more than 30 years of professional photography experience to the seminar.  Attendees are encouraged to bring their camera (point-and-clicks and iPhones welcome) for equipment tips.

After the seminar, from 1 to 2 p.m., Perry will explore the store with those interested and assist them in applying the principles and tips learned during his presentation.

The seminars are free and open to the public, no registration required.  Seminars are held in Molbak’s Events Area in the southwest corner of the store.
