Six Northshore seniors named National Merit Scholarship finalists

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has named six Northshore School District seniors as National Merit finalists.  Finalists represent less than one-half of 1 percent of the 1.5 million students who took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test nation-wide.

Students are:

• Inglemoor High School

Rahul Bachal, son of Pratibha  Bachal

Henry Sokol, son of Deborah Parkins-Sokol and James Sokol

Kathleen Zhou, daughter of Feng and Yan Zhou

Cynthia Zhu, daughter of Lin Ming and Baohua Zhuu

• Woodinville High School

Christian Matthews, son of Sharon and Joseph Matthews, III

Karthik Romesh, son of Nalini and Dr. Anapathur Ramesh

Finalists will be considered for more than 8,300 National Merit Scholarship Awards to be awarded this spring and often receive other offers because of their standing as National Merit finalists.
