Snohomish County Fire District 7 was dispatched to an apartment fire just after 2 a.m. in the 1200 block of Mill Creek Blvd. Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the three-story apartment building. Residents in the first-floor apartment where the fire started were alerted to the fire by smoke alarms and evacuated. A neighbor pulled the fire alarm alerting the rest of the building to the fire.
Crews were able to quickly knock down the flames, limiting damage to three apartments. The residents of those apartments are receiving assistance from the Snohomish County Red Cross. One resident was treated for smoke inhalation and was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. About 35 firefighters responded from Fire District 7 and Fire District 1. Crews from Bothell, Monroe and Everett provided back-up coverage while Fire District 7 was at the fire. Fire District 1 fire investigators were on-scene, but no preliminary cause or damage estimate is available.
