Fundraiser planned for March 23
On February 19, 2012, Woodinville Costco employee and WHS grad, Tyler Schrenk suffered a traumatic spinal cord injury following a diving accident.
This life-altering event left him a quadriplegic and fully dependent on a ventilator and round-the-clock care.
After spending several months in rehab at Harborview Hospital, his medical condition stabilized and he was able to go home – a true victory.
Since the day of his injury, his many friends, family and even strangers have come together to help him pull through and begin a new life.
However, the reality of providing for all of his needs is devastating and his expenses a heavy burden.
On March 23 at 6:30 p.m. at Echo Falls Golf Club, a fundraiser will be held to help Tyler and his family meet their most pressing needs:
• A Diaphragmatic Pacer, which would be implanted by a specialist in Cleveland, Ohio, requiring airfare, lodging, nursing, etc. Estimated cost is $25,000.
• A specially modified van allowing him greater mobility and independence. $67,000.
• A FES bike for stimulating and exercising his arm and leg muscles. $21,000.
You can be a Team Event Sponsor (Gold - $1000, Silver $500, Bronze ($250), or help by donating a product, service or gift certificate as an auction item, or by donating to the Tyler Schrenk Irrevocable Trust Fund.
Additionally, we’d like to extend an invitation to the dinner/auction event.May we count on your support? May we reserve a seat for you?
With your help and support, we are determined to meet our financial goal of $115,000.
Despite Tyler’s resilient nature and strong will, he needs your help in whatever way possible. Where once he happily jumped in to help anyone in need, he now finds the roles reversed.
We hope you will help us in this effort and we thank you for your support.
Please send donations and/or to reserve your seat ($30 per person) for the dinner and auction to:
