DUVALL — This year’s SandTennial Festival will be held at McCormick Park on the shore of the historic and beautiful Snoqualmie River in Duvall. The festival is looking for artists to demonstrate, display and sell their work within the arts fair located on a grassy knoll overlooking the river and sand sculpture area.
As the community of Duvall celebrates their centennial, the main goal of the 2013 festival is to celebrate the arts and introduce and promote local and regional artists and art organizations.
The dates for this year’s festival are Saturday and Sunday, July 20-21. The festival features a professional and community sand sculpture event and includes live music, dance and performance, story telling and a fine arts and crafts fair.
All applicants must complete an entry form, sign and date the agreement and submit photos/slides or other samples of their work that will be representative of the items shown/sold at the festival. Include the $50 application fee in order to be considered. All applications must be received by the May 31 deadline. Applicants will be judged on the quality and originality of the work submitted. Special consideration will be given to artists who indicate that they are willing to demonstrate their technique/medium at their booth during the festival. All items sold at the festival must be hand made by the artist. One hundred percent of artist sales belong to the artist. No commercial or mass produced merchandise will be permitted, however greeting cards, T-shirts, coffee mugs, etc. that feature the artist’s original images will be allowed.
All artists are responsible for their own booths and displays.
Each artist will be assigned a 6x10 or 10x10 space depending on preference and availability.
Accepted artists are allowed to share booth space.
Electricity will be available on a very limited basis. Running water will be accessible.
Art Festival hours are Saturday and Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. Booth set up is Friday evening 5-8 p.m.
