The Woodinville Lions Club announced recently that they have accepted an offer from a private party to sell the Lions Club property, formerly the Mountain View Community Center.
The property has a long history of serving the Woodinville community and as a meeting place for the Boy Scouts, 4-H clubs, AA, Sno-King Racing Pigeon Club, senior groups and other organizations.
It has also housed the Sunshine Pre-School since 1966. After the original Mountain View group disbanded, the building and the property was deeded over to the Woodinville Lions in April of 1975. The original building was built in 1941 by the Kirkland Fire Department and was moved to its present location in the early 1960s.
It also served as a Civil Defense meeting place during World War II.
The Woodinville Lions Club will move their meetings to a local restaurant starting in May, as a noon-time club, at a location to be announced later.
The real estate transactions were handled by Cydny Wells, Windermere Real Estate in Woodinville.
