|Guilty verdict returned in death of WHS teacher|

Johnnie Lee Wiggins, 49, was found guilty last Tuesday of second degree murder in the savage beating death of his girl friend Prudence Hockley.
Wiggins was charged with beating her Dec. 24, 2011. Hockley’s teen-age daughter called Seattle police after she found her mother on the ground outside their Greenwood neighborhood home in Seattle. Hockley died Christmas Day at Harborview Medical Center as a result of injuries she received.
Sentencing is set for July 19. The standard sentence for second degree murder is 20 to 30 years imprisonment. Hockley was a popular and respected teacher at Woodinville High School where she had taught English and advanced-placement English since 1997.
