Caitlin Elizabeth Bennett

of Bothell graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor of arts degree in art history and art during the 143rd Commencement May 25 at McDaniel College in Westminster, Md.

Woodinville’s Maja De Bonte will join 64 other gifted kids from across the country for Yunasa, a week-long camp from the Institute for Educational Advancement (IEA) led by experts in the field of gifted education. The camp is designed to remind bright campers that they are more than just intellect, and campers will spend the week exploring and growing the intellectual, spiritual, emotional, social and physical aspects of their lives.

Lauren C. Michael

has recently been named to the dean’s list at Boston University for the spring semester. She is the daughter of Bob and Shannon Michael of Bothell.

Other Northshore students named to the Boston University dean’s  list include: Allison H. DeAngelis and Katherine  E. Sexton, both of Woodinville.

Bothell Post 127 of the American Legion sponsored four high school juniors from the Northshore School District to Central Washington University in Ellensburg.

From Woodinville High School are Charles Mehrmann, Dalton Mann, Jacob Yee. From Bothell High was Tyler Chappell.Bothell Post members were pleased to learn Dalton Mann was selected as one of two boys from each state to attend BoysNation in Washington, D.C., in July.

Caroline Brawner

was a recipient of the dean’s award for academic excellence during the 2013 spring term at Colgate University, where Brawner is a member of the Class of 2015 and studies international relations.Brawner is a graduate of Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy, and lives in Bothell.

Reeceann Cabaniero-Buendia

from Woodinville was named to the dean’s list at the University of New Haven for the spring 2013 semester.

Andrea Clark

of Mill Creek was named to the spring 2013 dean’s list at Creighton University, located in Omaha, Neb.

Colin Eckhoff

, who attended Hollywood Hill Elementary and Timbercrest Jr. High before heading to The Bear Creek School has been selected as a delegate to the Inaugural Global Youth Summit on the Future of Medicine next week in Boston.  He is one out of only 175 students selected across the country.

Chelsea Fleeger

, a junior psychology-BS major at Grove City College, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2013 semester. Fleegeris a 2010 graduate of Lititz Christian School and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Fleeger (Ann) from Bothell.

Spring Arbor University has announced that Ethan Goodnight was named to the spring 2013 academic honors list. Goodnight of Bothell is a freshman majoring in history. Goodnight, son of David and Shelly Goodnight, has a cumulative 4.0 GPA. Spring Arbor University is a private, four-year Christian liberal arts university located near Jackson, Mich.

Preston Longoni

graduated with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from University of Portland. He is employed at Core Design Civil Engineering in Bellevue, Wash.

Rachel Dunn

of Woodinville, a freshman majoring in English, and Caitlin King of Bothell, a freshman majoring in engineering, were named to the George Fox University dean’s list for the spring 2013 semester. Students had to earn a grade point average of 3.5 or better to land a spot on the list.

The following area students have been named to the spring term dean’s list at Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY:

• Sophmore Hayden Eriks of Kenmore is the son of Stephanie Matthews. Eriks is majoring in business administration.

• First-year student Hannah Strom of Kenmore is the daughter of Brian Strom and Diane Strom. Strom is majoring in psychology and mathematics.

Daniel Held

of Woodinville has been named to the University of Kansas honor roll for the spring 2013 semester. Held is a senior studying design. He was named to the honor roll for the School of Architecture, Design and Planning.

Madison Marie Jones

of Woodinville has been named to the dean’s list at Clemson University for the spring 2013 semester. Jones is majoring in pre-business.

Eric Juhos

of Woodinville was named to the spring 2013 dean’s list at Wake Forest University.

Daniel Kaplan

of Woodinville has graduated from the University of Delaware.

Yoonku Lee

, a pre-pharmacy major and a resident of Bothell, was among more than 2,800 students from The University of Toledo who made the spring 2013 dean’s list.

McKenzie Luth

of Woodinville, a junior at the University of Montana majoring in psychology, made the spring semester 2013 dean’s list. She also competed in the Big Sky Conference Championship outdoor track and field meet in May in the 4x400 meter relay taking first place. She and her Grizzly teammates now hold the school record, as well as the Big Sky Conference title with a time of 3:40.89.

Thomas Logan

of Kenmore was among those honored on the Lewis University dean’s list for spring semester 2013. Logan is studying aviation administration at Lewis University.

Victoria Maxon

of Bothell graduated from Lafayette College in Easton, Penn., and earned a bachelor of science degree in biology. Also, Maxon was named to the 2013 dean’s list.

St. Vincent College student Molly McCloskey, a junior biology major from Kenmore, was inducted at the second initiation ceremony of the college’s chapter of Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) National Biological Honor Society.

The following local students were named to the St. Olaf College dean’s list for the spring 2013 semester:

Stefan Mellem from Woodinville is a physics, mathematics and computer science major. He is the son of Robert and Christine Mellem .

Katherine Ulvestad from Woodinville is a biology and economics major. She is the daughter of John and Carrie Ulvestad.

Kathryn Wolfram from Woodinville is an economics major. She is the daughter of Mark Wolfram and Lynn Cash.

Woodinville resident Rielly Milne recently helped Brentwood College School win the Calder Cleland Trophy as Men’s Senior Eight champions at the Canadian Secondary Schools Rowing Association championships in St. Catharines, Ontario.

Brentwood, located on Vancouver Island, finished the 1,000-meter course in a time of 2:45.24. Milne, a former Hollywood Hill and Leota JHS student, has attended Brentwood for three years and has also won a silver and bronze at previous CSSRA events. He will return to Brentwood for his senior year this fall.

Matthew Czubek Nacionales

has been accepted by Hampden-Sydney College and will enroll with an Alumni Award in August 2013. Matt is a graduate of Inglemoor High School and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Manny Nacionales of Bothell.

of Woodinville has graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology. Conway is a 2009 graduate of The Bear Creek School.

Ryan Gilkey

has graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in economics. Gilkey is a 2009 graduate of Woodinville High School.

Andrew Hawkins

has graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in English. Hawkins is a graduate of Woodinville High School.

Claire Matsunami

of Kenmore has graduated with a bachelor of  arts degree in religion. Matsunami is a 2009 graduate of Shorecrest High School.

Meredith Peterson

, a biology and parks and forest resources double major from Woodinville, was named to the honor’s list for the spring semester at Unity College, which is located in rural Maine.

Dylan Smith

,a  kindergarten student at East Ridge Elementary in Woodinville, was one of thewinners of the local disaster preparedness program "What to do to Make it Through" poster contest. Six-year-old Dylan included trading cards for the different steps kids can take to help their families prepare, such as making a plan, building a kit, and even protecting pets.

Wesley Steeb

, daughter of David and Karen Steeb of Woodinville, has been named to the dean’s list for the last four years at Hillsdale College. Wesley is a senior majoring in history.

Eric Schmidt

of Woodinville has graduated from Whitman College with a bachelor of arts degree in anthropology. He is the son of Jim and Cindy Schmidt.
