Delton “Del” Halvorson

Delton “Del” Halvorson of Kirkland, Washington, passed away on July 19, 2013.

Del was born at home on the family farm in Churchs Ferry, North Dakota, August 1, 1934. He grew up with his five brothers and sisters, graduating from Leeds High School, continuing on to attend North Dakota State University. He was active in the Boy Scouts and the Future Farmers of America.

In 1958 he married Betty Rendahl. They moved their family to Bellevue, Wash., in 1962.

Del became an entrepreneur, owning and operating a number of businesses including Del’s “Phillips 66” in downtown Kirkland, Del’s Arco on Rose Hill, D & R Cabinets in North Juanita and Del’s Truck Rentals in Kirkland and Woodinville.

Del is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty, three children, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Harriet Halvorson, his sister, Deanna Steil (“Manny”), and brother Curtis Halvorson (Loretta).

A  memorial service was held July 25 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Kirkland.
