Fall’ in love with color and texture

Fall is a great time to add color and texture to your garden by planting trees and shrubs. Molbak’s is offering free seminars on September 7-8.

First up is Brian Jacob on Saturday at 10 a.m. presenting Conifers for Fall and Year Round Interest. Jacob will share his love of conifers and how to use them effectively in the landscape.  Fran Sharp, Great Plant Picks Committee, will follow at noon with Adding Grace and Beauty with Japanese Maples.  Learn about different Japanese maple varieties, their growth habits, unique characteristics. The WSU Extension Master Gardeners will be on site from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, to answer gardening questions.     

Sunday will feature local gardening expert and tv/radio personality Ciscoe Morris and In-Harmony co-owner, Ladd Smith. Morris will share some of his favorite trees and shrubs for fall and winter color at noon in Get Planting! Favorite Trees & Shrubs for "Oh la la" Fall or Winter Color.  Smith will share proven and environmentally friendly practices for fall lawn care in Eco-friendly Fall Lawn Care at 2 p.m.
