A presentation by Tom Matthiesen, sponsored by the Duvall Historical Society, is planned for Monday, October 7, at 7:30 p.m.at the Duvall Visitor and Centennial Center.
It was the mid to late 1960s and early 1970s, and some very interesting people began showing up in and around the town of Duvall. It was during a time of political and social divisiveness all across the United States and all around the world.
There was an increasing distance between the old thinking and the new, the older generations and the younger, the "establishment" and a growing "underground" counter culture. In many other small outlying communities the arrival of these "irregulars" sometimes played out poorly. But somehow it all worked out pretty well in this little town in the Snoqualmie Valley. What really happened then and why?
