Friends of Youth will hold its first annual Riverview Youth and Family Services Fundraising Breakfast to increase counseling support for youth in the Riverview School District. The agency also hopes to raise awareness of the many services and programs it provides to support parents, families, children and youth.
•Last year, the Youth and Family Services Program provided a minimum of three hours per week of pro bono counseling in high schools, serving a total of 65 students.
•The need for services is growing as are waiting lists for students who need Friends of Youth’s services. Skilled counselors provide help of kids who experience depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustment difficulties and substance abuse – primarily alcohol and marijuana.
•The Riverview School District, Snoqualmie Valley Community Network and other community supporters are working with the agency to realize their shared vision of successful learners who have the support they need to thrive.
