Despite freezing temperatures, scores of friends, family and neighbors gathered to kick off the holidays Friday evening at Windermere Woodinville. Outside, guests huddled around bonfires and indulged in goodies provided by the staff and agents. Inside the office, guests lined up for free photos with Santa.

This is the sixth year the brokerage has hosted the holiday event, which honors deceased agent Rick Bakke by supporting the non-profit he helped found – The Forgotten Children’s Fund (www.forgottenchildrensfund.org).

"My brothers and I rotate being Santa here," said Greg Bakke of Duvall, who notes the fund is totally volunteer operated. "The brokerage dedicates this evening to our dad and we play Santa in his memory. Besides, we love kids and it’s fun!"
