Chase away those post-holiday blues and have some fun.
Discover your hidden talents in an informal and encouraging atmosphere. Absolutely no previous drawing or painting experience is necessary. The group meets every other Monday, from 7-9 p.m.
Fifteen participants will gather for 10 weeks beginning January 13.
Three professional artists will present a variety of mediums.
Melissa Jander (melissajander.com) will teach loose and lively landscapes in acrylics for two weeks. After demonstrations and exercises, each student will take home the finished canvas they have painted.
Laura Wood Sisti (who holds a degree in art education) will be leading us in sketching basics, as well as teaching simplified paper cuts. You will be amazed when your completed project is backed with contrasting paper. Laura has studied art in Japan and France and has much to share.
Kay Lewis (professional technical illustrator) will be teaching beginning watercolor techniques over a five week period, utilizing greeting card and journaling formats.
Accomplished crafter Caryn Scheffer will be teaching construction of the journal to be used in the watercolor classes.
Classes are taught in an accepting atmosphere where fun and discovery are emphasized. All materials are provided, but each participant is asked to donate $25 to help defray costs for professional quality art supplies, and secure a place in the class.
Adults and children over 14 years old when accompanied by an adult are welcome.
